Morro and Jasp: Behind the NoseOur documentary is making its way alround the world! Join the party and watch it here:
SubDevision at Magnetic NorthWe just returned from Ottawa after a week of magical fun. We premiered Morro and Jasp: Lost and Found which took place in a storage room. Yep. A storage room. We fell in love with Ottawa and all the people who live there.
A big thank you to the amazing team that made Magnetic North so very awesome and to the super fly SubDevision peeps. You rock our socks.
Red Nose District at the Toronto Festival of ClownsWhile Jasp was off at Anger Management Camp, Morro along with Foo, Botchie Bobbie, Figgy, Baby, Boobily, Princess Penelope Pamplemousse, Rocket & Sheshells, Harriet, Sir Porridge, Sandy Possum, Onoze, and Cosmo took the stage at Red Nose District: Big Sister is Watching You at the Toronto Festival of Clowns. Since Jasp wasn't there in person, there was nothing she could do when the clowns led a revolution against her and foiled her plans. The night ended with an epic dance party, laughter, and oodles of joy. So there, Jasp...
2012 for Morro and Jasp
We had an amazing year and feel like the luckiest clowns on the planet. Here are some of the highlights:
We helped create a new wing of the Next Stage Festival (The Antechamber) and sold out our run there on the second day of the festival.
We were on the cover of Xtra. That was like...okay, we're not gonna lie, it was really cool.
We co-produced Morro and Jasp: Go Bake Yourself with Cahoots Theatre Company in their awesome kitchen and made the biggest mess in history. And our enormous mess even won us a Dora Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble, and two nominations for Outstanding Production and Best New Play.
We hosted an epic End-of-the-World Cabaret on the opening night of the Toronto Festival of Clowns. We were in the company of some of the country's best clowns and it all ended in a giant dance party.
We made a tragedy. Okay, we may have slightly changed the ending, but Of Mice and Morro and Jasp was a different step for us. It paid off with sold-out houses, some pretty great reviews, and audience members who stayed to hug us after the show.
Thank you all for making this year such a great one for us. We would be twiddling our thumbs in our basement if it weren't for all your amazing love and support!
Two Much Fun: Morro and Jasp do Puberty & Of Mice and Morro and JaspOur double bill was a sold-out super fun success! We had an unbelievably amazing audience, got fantastic footage and our editor in The Big Apple has been working on some pretty fantastic trailers for us. Stay tuned!
2012 Fringe Tour: A Huge Success! We performed Of Mice and Morro and Jasp in Toronto, Winnipeg & Edmonton and the show was a sell out hit! People laughed, cried, and bought out all of our buttons! Thank you to the incredible audiences who helped make our summer such a huge success.
Morro and Jasp won a Dora!On Monday, June 25th, Morro and Jasp won a Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in the Independent Theatre Division.
Morro and Jasp: Go Bake Yourself was also nominated for Outstanding Production and Best New Play.
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you....
